Do pictures of polar bears standing forlorn on melting ice nibble at your conscience, but you still find it hard to surrender luxuries in the name of countering climate change? Do you enjoy having the latest technology, a smooth and quiet ride, and premium leather appointments?

Ford may have exactly the vehicle you've been waiting for. The 2017 Fusion Energi is coming this summer to Danbury.

Among its updates to exterior and interior styling, as well as technology upgrades to new SYNC 3 infotainment system, and 20 available semi-autonomous safety and driver assistance features, the redesigned 2017 model now comes in an upscale Platinum trim.

A First Drive Review by Car and Driver says the 188-combined-horsepower powertrain lacks the zest for excessively spirited maneuvering, but praises the natural feel of steering, braking, and power source transitions.

"Driven sensibly, the Energi is pleasant, and the silent electric-mode operation and smooth ride are totally in character with the Platinum version's luxury pretensions," writes Steve Siler for Car and Driver. "When the gasoline engine does kick in, it does it smoothly enough that we had to watch the power-source display to make sure we knew when it was running."

Looking for a vehicle with a carbon footprint so small, polar bears will thank you, but won't give up the supple feel of stitched-leather seating and steering wheels? Contact Colonial Ford about the 2017 Fusion Energi Platinum, or browse our new inventory for other eco-friendly models.
